canada's food guide

Today in class we started a new lesson CANADA'S FOOD GUIDE this lesson is talking about what is the safe and healthy food to eat for our everyday living. Mr: k told us that the light mayo is not a mayonnaise you can tell that by looking at the nutrition facts of this product.

That's a really great thing to learn about healthy food especially with all the bad things we unconsciously eat. You should check out this site http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/fn-an/food-guide-aliment/index_e.html
on Canada Food Guide. Maybe you have already seen it. I have a little task for you. Check out the website and tell me how much milk CHILDREN need to drink and why. If you find this answer maybe you can ask me a really tough one too and I'll try to answer it. :)

It's great to be aware of what you are eating! Why don't you try looking in your cupboard at home and try to find healthier choices for things you eat everyday. One example is whole wheat pasta is much healthier than regular pasta.

I agree with everyone else's comments on how important it is to eat healthy. I wish sometimes that I would be eating healthy but sometimes it is hard when you don't have time. Usually quick and fast foods are the un healthy foods. One thing that you can do is look uop foods that are good for you and that you like. You then can make a plan just for a week and see if you can be eat healthier then you usually do. Then maybe you can keep eating that way.

Hello Junar, thanks for the reply. You are right about drinking one or two percent milk. Here is the answer to the question I asked you.

"Encourage young children to drink water to quench their thirst and replenish body fluids. Canada 's Food Guide recommends that children and adults choose vegetables and fruit more often than juice. Children also need a total of 500 mL (2 cups) of milk every day to help meet their requirement for vitamin D."

(just put it all together)
Do you know where else you can find vitamin D?
