Scribe

Today in math we did our usual mental math test. Mr. kuropatwa taught us an easier way to multiply. For example if we needed to multiply $6.25 x 4 instead of doing it the more difficult way and multiplying it by 4 or multiplying each digit.. we could take $6.25 and times it by 2 and that gives you $12.50 and then you take $12.50 and times it by another 2 then you get $25.00.
Another example is ..
$14.25 x 4
$14.25 x 2 = $28.50
$28.50 x 2 =$57.00
The next scribe will be BantangX.

Hi Batanqx,

I see you've created a new blog for your post and pasted it here. That means you were able to post and completed your scribe responsibility!

Try this link to see if it is helpful to you to post on this class blog.

Best,
Lani

fter reading some of your classmates blogs I'm starting to think your teacher Mr. kuropatwa should have been my math teacher! Breaking math down so that it is in easier numbers to work with is such a great idea and it makes it so much easier! Keep practicing with not only multiplication but addition and subtraction as well to see if you can apply those same "tricks"!

Hi Jonathan, I think that Mr. Kuropatwa has shown you a great trick for multiplying. I always am trying to find little tricks to make math easier. I teach math to kids your age so I look forward to learning new things from you and your class through reading your posts about math.
