In our last lesson, i learn a lot of things about spreadsheets. I dont know before how do spreadsheet but thanks to Mr. Kuropatwa, i know now how to make an spreadsheet on my own.
Spreadsheet contains a LABELS and VALUES. Before we put anything in the spreadsheet, we must first READ and FOLLOW the directions carefully because if we dont, everything will be mess up. And if we want to put a formula, always remember that always put an EQUAL SIGN because if we dont, the answer not gonna show up. For example, =sum(A2,A3),we can do this too, =A2+A3, this formula are both the same.
About the tricks too in mental math like how to solve 9 multiply into other number like 42. There's an easy way to solve this without using a calculator. this is how it is,
9x42=378
instead we multiply 9 to 42, we multiply 42 to 10 because 9 is close to 10 and 10 is easy to multiply to 42, just put zero after the number 42 then we get 420
10x42=420
then, we subtract 420 to 42 because we only need nine 42 and we multiply it in 10 so we must take one 42 in 420 and we get 387, and that's the answer.
420-42= 378
Its amazing that we are learning this unit because some other young teenager like us dont go to school. So dont waste time, learning everything makes a big changes in our life.

In our lesson, we didn't do mental math as we usually do instead Mr. K group us into six group. Then Mr. K gave us a problem to solve. The question is about finding the new salary if a worker get a percent rise or a dollar rise in a regular wage,and which option is better take, for example:
The manager give the employee a two option to choose to rise their regular hourly wage, first option, additional $3.00 for every hours a worker work and the second option is 25% rise of their regular wage every hour. The worker regular wage per hour is $10.00.Which option should a worker take to rise his regular wage more higher?
solution:
option 1
hourly wage + additional pay= new hourly wage
$10.00 + $3.00= $13.00
option 2
percent rise/100%= decimal answer
25%/100%= 0.25
(decimals)(hourly wage)=additional pay
0.25 x $10.00= $2.50
hourly wage + additional pay=new hourly wage
$10.00+ $2.50= $12.50
The worker should choose the first option because his regular hourly wage rise $3.00 than the second option that only rise by $2.50.

In mental math, i learn a lot lot of things and "tactics" to solve a problem without using a calculator.Its really improve my ability to solve a problem.I feel great that i learn this well.

Yesterday, we learn about choosing the best account but before that, we did first a Mental Math.
we learn how to get the percent of a numbers. for example, find the 5% of 105 and the answer is 5.25, this how i got the half of 105 is 5.25, then move the decimal place by two and you will get 5.25. I have another solution for that, if the Question is find the 5% of 105, find first if how many 5% are there in 100% because 105 is a 100% so, there are 20 piece of 5% in a 100% and that 20 must Divide to 105 and you will get the answer 5.25. And then
we learned about choosing the best account.
